Kit's Verdict
August has been a busy month. We reviewed reviewed videos from 40 providers — 167 long-form videos and 322 Shorts, representing nearly 53 hours of content. Of the 148 eligible long-form tutorials reviewed, 24—or 16.2%—meaningfully discussed feels. This low % highlights the fact that the golf instruction industry is still focussed on getting golfers into specific anatomical positions. So my pick of this month's videos, because it focuses on feels, is from Danny Maude. Known by his followers as the "People's coach" and based at Canterbury Golf Club in the UK he strips away complex mechanics and focuses on natural feel and human movement. This video shows you how you can set up your practice environment to give you instant feedback and help your brain and body understand the necessary feels to deliver the required "real". Tommy Fleetwood uses this regularly so it must be good!
Most Watched Long Form
Long form videos are longer than 3 minutes. This month's winner of the "Most Watched" category is Porzak Golf with "This simple driver lesson beats hitting 10,000 balls on the range". Based in San Diego, Adam Porzak is known for his videos on simplicity and core principles. This video has been watched 353,000 times and is this month's most-watched long-form video.
Clubhouse Chatter
The Clubhouse Chatter award is given to the most comments per 1000 views. This doesn't mean it's the best or the worst, just that it's generated the most discussion. This month the award goes to Athletic Motion Golf based in Florida and run by Shaun Webb and Mike Granato. Their video, "Unlock Hidden Speed Hiding Inside of You" has got everyone talking. The video is 'ansum and the Clubhouse chatter is high because of all the positive comments and we agree !
Most popular short
Finally, we have an award for the most popular short-from video, less than 3 minutes long. This month the TPI Institute posted a slow-mo of Michael Brennan's swing which has been watched 1.2 million times! This may have caught fire because of his win at the Wyndham Championship in August which sneaked him into the Fedex playoffs. But he does have a wonderfully powerful swing and amazingly his coach PGA Professional Adam Harrell who has been teaching nhim since 12 balances his elite golf teaching with a full-time job teaching sixth-grade middle school mathematics!
